What is a perfect comic? Thanks to CGC, it is now easy to know whether a comic is in perfect condition or not. CGC is short for Certified Guaranty Company; its service is to grade comics on a scale of 0.5 to 10, where 0.5 is poor condition and 10 is perfect, excellent condition.

So what makes for perfect CGC 10 comics? Avoid tears on pages, splitting of spines, and other signs that the comic has been read through! Comics go through a grading process, being passed from one grader to the next, to ensure impartiality.

After being assigned a grade, it is also assigned a unique verifiable number, and sealed inside a transparent capsule. Soon after, you can watch as the price of this comic escalates.

A CGC 10 Action Comics first issue is said to be priced at the value of 470, 000 US dollars. Though not all comics are priced as much, be prepared to shell out some cash, as these comics are well-taken care of, and are believed to be good investments—soon enough, the price you paid for it will double.

To think, these comics were used to be ignored by people! No one ever thought of keeping them; failing to consider the fact that in the future, it will be a collector’s item, valued far more than a car or even a house! For a mere ten cents, you could now have a hundred-thousand dollar comic in your hand, with the proper care for it.

As can be seen, comics are valued not only by their condition, but also their rarity. It was only during the mid-70’s that comic collecting became serious. Hence, comics earlier than that are said to be more valuable.

CGC comics might sound difficult to find, and impossible to procure as they would cost much, but you need not be limited to these old and rare ones. Comics that have just come out and are in pristine condition are still affordable, so why not invest in those?

After all, comics that are valued hundreds of thousands today did not start out that way. Who knows; perhaps your old CGC comics today might be worth thousands in the near future!

Everyone is familiar with Superman, yet most people only know as far as him having superhuman abilities. How did Superman become the most popular superhero, becoming a cultural icon of America, and having a huge impact to the whole world?

Not everyone has read the Superman Comics, so here are the details of Superman’s extraordinary abilities—as well as his human side, Clark Kent:

Superman is originally from the planet Krypton, which is about to be destroyed. Upon knowledge of this, Superman’s father, a scientist, puts him in a rocket and sends him to Earth, as the atmosphere there would enable him to have superpowers.

Upon arriving here, he lands on a farm in Smallville, and the couple who owns it adopts him and decides to name him Clark Kent. Growing up, he discovers that he has superhuman abilities, and his parents advice him not to tell others. He sees his spaceship and discovers who he is, and where he is from.

Superman uses his powers to help people. However, he tries to conceal his real identity by assuming a normal life—he gets a job at the Daily Mail, and befriends the people there, especially Lois Lane, to whom he is romantically linked.

Superman works regularly, yet when there is danger, he quickly ducks into a phone booth to change into Superman. He has a red and blue outfit with a cape, has amazing strength, and heat and X-ray vision.

However, like most superheroes, Superman also has a weakness—kryptonite. It makes him weak and vulnerable, and his only defense is to wear a lead spacesuit.

Superman Comics make for great reading, especially if you are a beginner in comics, especially those with superheroes. As can be seen, Superman Comics has gone through several decades, and more and more people pay homage to the great comic superhero.

Someone who is totally different from other superheroes, Spiderman, a teenage crime-fighting hero have been embedded in the hearts of many people, especially teenagers who have related much on his life as an adolescent. He does not have superpowers that generated from a piece of kryptonite, nor does he have an ability to fly high outside the outer space. All he has is his webs and a mind that has an ability to think carefully and quick when emergency situation calls for it.

Spiderman is in fact a fictional superhero. His first appearance in 1962 in his self-titled Spiderman comics has become an instant hit. People from different parts of the globe have been avid followers of the comic series that pave way for this story bound character to come alive in everyone’s hearts and imagination. His story as a normal person has been an inspiration to many, and his other self as a superhero has been idolized by many.

Stories that were created in every series of Spiderman comics were jam-packed with exhilarating actions. The scenes were amusedly drawn, and the storyline simply puts the characters into life. These are the reasons why these comic books by Marvel instantly gain popularity and become one of the greatest to be published.

But the fame did not only end there. Readers wanted to see more actions on their television sets, and even on the big silver screen. These very reasons gave way for producers to put the stories found at every series of Spiderman comics in television series and in the movies. And just like the old comic book, people flocked the movie houses to watch the Spiderman movies, and became passionate followers of the animated television series.

At present, the images of the teenage superhero have been printed on posters, kid’s merchandise and school supplies, as well as were made into action figures. It is indeed amazing to note that a superhero that once a comic book idol is now alive and kicking in the hearts of many people.

Buying Comics is a popular craze among collectors nowadays. Because of the popularity of collecting old comics, more and more comics are coming out of the market. Aside from buying old comics out of hobby, some collectors buy old comics for investment purposes. It is important to note that in order to avoid regrets; one must not buy old comics in impulse or in haste.

When buying old comics for investment purposes, one must be on a look out for high-end comics. These old comics are those that have potentials to be more valuable than other kinds of comics over time. In purchasing high-end comics, there are things that one must take note.

The real question is where to buy old comics? The best places to find these vintage books is on ebay and at large comic book conventions. These comic books shows have dealers from all over the country that have almost every book ever produced.

a. Before you buy old comic books, check if it is a popular item. If you intend to make your collection an investment, make sure that the comics that you intend to buy has a large number of followers. Some very popular good buys are comics are about Superman, Batman, Spiderman and other comics that pertain to superheroes.
b. Be wise and analyze the old comics before you buy it. Some people think that it is natural to pay more when they buy old comics. The age of the old comics does not always denote its value. Always remember that for old comics to be valuable, it must be popular and sought after by collectors and fans, old and in good condition. Some people even pay extra when the old comic book is in mint condition.
c. Be keen in identifying the treasure from the trash. Some comic books even if they are worn out and has no cover might still be worth a lot. Do not mistakenly throw a worn out and old copy of an old comic book. Do some research and ask people who are knowledgeable in that aspect before you lose a chance to cash-in your old comic books.

There are a lot of factors that one must need to consider before buying old comic books. However, the most important thing to consider is to identify your purpose for buying one. Buying old comics is not only a potential money-making hobby but it helps enhance creativity and the imagination of the reader.

Buying comic books is an easy task. Simply drop at any nearby newsstand or bookstore and grab a copy of your desired issue and presto, you can already include that in your comic collections. However, some comic collectors are not satisfied of having a copy which almost anyone could have. If they could have an issue which comes so rarely and was released years ago, yet in a good condition, then that is the time that they could become a happy comic collector.

Collecting a comic book under this condition must be authentic to absolutely have the real value of what you are trying to possess. To make sure that what you are going to get is real, make sure that it underwent the process of the CGC Comic Book Grading.

The process of CGC Comic Book Grading has four stages: receiving, grading, encapsulating, and shipping. A large of number of comic books is being submitted to CGC yearly to undergo the grading process. CGC stands for Certified Guarantee Company, the company that tracked numerous copies of comic books.

Receiving is the first stage of the CGC Comic Book Grading. This is the stage where the verification of the invoice happens, wherein they assure if the number of comics in the package that they receive matches the number presented in the invoice that they have. All the information needed about the comics is entered in the computer in this stage before they all proceed in the succeeding process.

The next stage of the CGC Comic Book Grading process is the grading itself. The comics need to be graded by different graders and their final judgment depends on how close their grades are. The grading system is unbiased. This stage follows a grading process of 1-10 scale.

The next two final stages are encapsulating and shipping. In the encapsulating stage, the comic’s grade and the ID are found in the labels that are color-coded. Certain details are still being doubled check and on the final process, all the graded comic books will be inspected in the quality control.
However, it is subjective to grade your own comic. Alternatively, your comics can be graded by the Comics Guaranty Company (CGC) for a fee. Letting the CGC do the grading can give a third party opinion and can make your comic’s grade less subjective, enabling you to put your CGC comics for sale. CGC makes use of the same scale, so, it is not always required to pay them to conduct the grading for you.
The premier grade that most comics can get is mint. A comic that is in mint state looks more like it just roll off the press. In order for your comics to be in mint state, it shouldn’t have any tears, creases or cuts. Your comic should also be able to lay even on a surface with no curving or rolling of the pages. The spine of your comic has to be completely straight. A comic that is in a mint state also possess pages that do not have any discoloration or fading, smudges or marks and any tears or rips. The staples in the comic’s spine must be new looking and have no rust or unusual bending. An autograph is the only accepted marking on any comics.
If you are planning to buy comics in a wide selection of CGC comics for sale, then it is wise to check if the comics that have been put up on sale are really CGC graded comics. However, if a comic has very little imperfections, the grade that is typically given is very fine. One of the best sources where you can find a wide range of CGC comics for sale is the Internet. Some users put up their CGC comics for sale in some auction sites.

Every comic enthusiast’s dream is to obtain a perfect copy of his favorite comic. The search is quite easy nowadays, with the proliferation of websites which cater to the comic industry. From auctions to collectible buy and sell sites, it takes only a few clicks to get that sough-after comic. Yet before you spend hundreds of dollars on that perfect-looking comic, how do you know that the comic you are about to purchase is authentic? How do you know what condition it is in? If before, words like “poor,” “okay,” and “mint” seem to be enough in evaluating comics, now they simply aren’t enough.

Why buy graded comics? Is there really a need for this grading? Why not just buy a simple comic that is being sold to you by a friend or some stranger? There is a “grading process” in comics, and it involves a more complicated system that the old way of judging on a personal basis, which tends to be very biased.

First, a Restoration Detection Expert examines the book and passes it on to a pre-grader. They are placed inside barcoded mylar sleeves to guarantee that graders will not know who the owners are, and will be impartial.

The graders begin by counting the pages and examining each for any peculiarities or flaws, like tears or creases. He then adds his notes, and assigns his grading opinion. It is then passed on to the next grader, who will not be able to see the previous grader’s grade and notes until he himself assigns and writes his. This continues until it reaches the Grading Finalizer. After making one final restoration check, he assigns his own grade. If all the grades are close to each other, then it is sent to the Encapsulation Department for sealing.

With this process in mind, you can see why it is so much better to buy graded comics. You are assured of an authentic comic, and you can also be sure that the condition they say it is in is as described. Buying graded comics has never been easier and safer. If you know the process, you can forget your worries and focus on finding that comic you have long been looking for!

Superman CGC Comic books are being sought by collectors and people have been will to pay amazing prices for books in good condition. Due to the age of the Superman issues CGC has not graded many that have been in good or even fair condition as of late.

Superman CGC #1 Hits Record Numbers

In 1939 Superman #1 was released to the public and became one of the most famous comics ever to have been produced. A recent auction had a prized Superman CGC #1 Comic sell for an estimated $210,000.00 That is less than the Action Comics #1 graded by CGC but still nothing to sneeze at. At these prices whoever owns one of these rare Superman comics can almost name their price because of the scarcity that exists for these one of a kind items.

Death of Superman CGC Graded 9.8 #75

This is one of the highest grades that CGC has given to the Death of Superman Issue. This comic book is not rare but it is hard to find in 9.8 condition. This has also become one of the most popular comics of all-time and was the one that brought some of the most controversy. The story line shows Superman being defeated by his counterpart “Doomsday”. This comic has been so popular that the popular TV show Smallville has added it to this years lineup.

Superman CGC Comics will always be worth money as long as you stick to purchasing books in top condition. Make sure that you spend the extra few dollars and get the best grade possible before adding any new Superman CGC Graded comic into your collection.

With the new X-Men movie soon to be released X-Men CGC graded comics have been picking up steam. the X-Men franchise has always been popular with comic book collectors and when new movies are released fans began to look for the rarest of rare X-Men comic books. With the success of the X-Men movies spin offs like Wolverine and now the upcoming movie about Deadpool will soon begin production.
X-MEN Comic Books, A Brief History

X-Men Comics first began in September of 1963. The comic was released by the Marvel comics universe and was created by Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. The storyline contains a group of mutants who do their best to be excepted by humans that have no mutations. They are led by the famous professor Xavier. The villains in the comic book are also mutants but whose intentions are to rule over humans because they are not excepted because of their mutations. The X-Men comic books have come to be one of the most popular series ever to have been created.

What are X-Men CGC Comics Worth and where to Find Them

the very first issue of X-Men has a sticker price of only $.12. What is amazing is that a recent auction had the X-Men CGC graded comic for sale at over $13,000. this CGC graded comic was graded a 7.5 and given a very fine condition. This rare comic book will surely continue to rise as the X-Men dynasty continues to grow. So one of the main questions that we get asked is where can we find quality comic books of the X-Men. The first place I would tell you to look would be eBay.com. Some of the largest comic book dealers from all over the United States sell their rare and graded CGC comic books on eBay. Almost every week you will be able to find some of the best graded comic books being sold online. Another great place to look would be a comic con convention. These conventions are a lot of fun and you can find some of the greatest comic books at these shows. Everyone should experience a comic con convention at least once in their life.
